Our Adapted Slow Flow class provides a fluid, moving meditation similar to our other Flow classes but with the use of adaptations for students who may have limited mobility due to age, conditions or injuries. Our goal is to teach yoga movements that develop mobility, flexibility, strength and mindfulness regardless of physical limitations.
Traditionally, Flow Yoga involves a lot of getting down to, and up off of, the floor. In this class, clients will have the option to sit in a chair rather than on the floor as well as the use of the chair to help them up and down. We will also use other props for support. Standing and floor/seated movements will be done in separate sections to limit the number of transitions between floor and standing movements.
Some class session might be more fluid and others might be more chair based. Given that this class is designed to be very inclusive, the instruction will adapt overtime based on the students regularly attending the class.
