It is a myth that we must be flexible to do yoga. We do not arrive to Yoga with perfect bodies. Through breath and mindful movement we move our bodies and our minds toward wholeness and healing, and we learn to accept ourselves as we are each day.
We’ll be on Summer Holiday 3 – 7 August 2020 so there will be no livestream classes. Be on the lookout for pop-up outdoor classes if the weather looks promising.

After my first yoga class, I was hooked. I felt so calm. My body felt so open, and so tall. For 20 years now I have attended yoga classes for fitness, fun and to find a place of peace and respite. It’s helped me through bouts of back, neck, and wrist pain when I worked in IT. Yoga kept me fit during pregnancy and gives me a calming place to go when I need a break from the constancy of motherhood.
After many years working in a 24/7, high-stress career and suffering multiple miscarriages, I decided to focus on my health and well-being. I left work and trained with YogaWorks to become a certified yoga teacher. In 2013, I earned my Yoga Alliance 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification.
In addition to practicing Yoga, I regularly practice Pilates. I find many yoga classes are lacking when it comes to protecting and strengthening the body through core engagement. My practice of Pilates greatly informs the way that I teach Yoga.
Lastly, as someone who suffers from Hypermobility Syndrome, I know the pain and frustration of many injuries, and at times, terrible whole body stiffness. Please know, it is a myth that you must be flexible to do yoga. We do not arrive to Yoga with perfect bodies. Through breath and mindful movement we move our bodies and our minds toward wholeness and healing, and we learn to accept ourselves as we are each day.
